Narrative

Mindy is a clumsy, pretty, fashionable, lovestruck higschool girl.
Likes to do fun things, hangs out with her grilfriend, pining over her crush Ren, studying his her last priority. Mindy is also slighty psychic.

The first minigame is build around mindy's love for watching stars.
Draw lines to catch stars as the pass by.

The second minigame is about mindy's crush Ren.
She manages to get Ren to have a conversation with her, after school , but because of Ren's popularity, some girls get jealous. From the school window they start throwing things to break up the conversation. Ren doesn't seem to notice but Mindy does. Save Ren and mindy's conversation by using Mindy's Psychic powers to block the objects. Use Mindy's powers wisely or you will drain her and have to wait until she recharges. In that time you will have to grab Ren and drag him to a new safe position.
Use her powers by drawing lines to block the thrown objects

Third minigame will be about mindy's love to dance. She does her daily dance routine as a form of excerise every morning.

Might be to draw shapes at the correct time to the music to complete her dance rountine, don't miss to many or clumsy Mindy will hurt herself.

Mindy's character is based off a character called Tenma from school rumble, a funny japanese anime.

Missile Command

Interesting game I ran across from the 80's. Might try to remake this into a mini game for my project.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF MINDY?

For the overall theme for my 3 minigames, I wanted to focus on 3 activities that would highlight the day of a ficitonal character I would I like to call Mindy.

You would have to complete each mingame successfully in order to link to another event in mindy's day.

Here are the 3 minigame ideas I will start to prototype this week.

1. Connecting objects by drawing lines to them before they reach the top of the screen.
To submit the objects you connected you would double click on the screen. The more like color objects you select the more points you get.

Selecting 3 or more of same color

Selecting 3 different colors

Possible addition of selecting 3 or more of different colors

2.Shapes would be falling from the top of the screen and you would have to successfully draw on top of them before they hit the ground. The more like shapes and color you do in a row the more points you get.

Drawing on 3 stars to create a chain

3.Create chains of objects by selecting 3 in a row of like color objects you can submit the 3 or create a longer chain of objects before the time runs out. The longer your chain the more points you get. You always have to finish a chain with the color you started out with.

Select 3 or more of like colors also make bigger chains by selecting 3 or more of a different color

SUITE OF MINIGAMES

My goal for this project is the create a suite of 4 minigames. I named this site linkchain minigames because I envision these minigames all linking to each other within a certain theme. For example each game might center around the office, or around food. The word chain was added because I would also like each minigame to involve some aspect in which you can combo or chain things to get a higher score.

GAME INTERACTION MAPPING

To get an understanding of what casual games and interactions are already available, I surveyed alot of games. These games come from sites such as Yahoo games, Newgrounds, Nitrome, Miniclips, Additive Games, Pogo, and Shockwave. The list formed in this pdf maps the games control mechanic, whether it uses a narrative, whether in my opinion it is addictive, it's core mechanic, and lastly if you can make combos to get a higher score in the game.
